"You... are... a... toy!"
- Woody
Sheriff Woody is the star of Disney and Pixar's animated film Toy Story and its three sequels. Woody is young Andy's favorite toy - at least until the space action figure Buzz Lightyear comes along. He is a good-hearted hero who is willing to help others, even when not to his personal advantage.
Did you know? When Toy Story was released in 1995, it made history as the first completely CGI, or computer animated feature film.

In addition to the films, Woody has appeared in video games, merchandise, live theatrical performances, short films, and cameo roles in A Bug's Life, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Family Guy, Meet the Robinsons, and other media.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing Woody from Toy Story
1. Begin by sketching Woody's face. Use long, curved lines to contour his forehead, cheek, chin, and "C" shaped ear.
2. Draw a curved line crossing the forehead to the top of the ear, forming the bottom of the hat. Use a half circle to draw hair emerging from the hat. Extend a curved and "L" shaped line beneath the head to form the neck.
3. Draw the collar of Woody's shirt. Use curved lines to sketch a curved triangular shape on one side and a curved rectangular shape on the other.
4. Extend three zigzag lines beneath the collar to form the inner portion and outline one side of Woody's vest. Extend a curved line from one side of the collar to form the shoulder, and use a series of overlapping curved lines to enclose the opening and remaining side of the vest. From the opening, extend a pair of parallel curved lines, forming Woody's arm.
5. From the opposite shoulder, extend a pair of curved lines, forming the remaining arm. Note that at the elbow, one line forms a gentle point while the other utilizes several small, overlapping lines. At the end of the arm, enclose a wavy rectangular shape, forming the cuff of the sleeve. Extend a curved line from the cuff to begin the hand.
6. Complete the hand using curved lines and narrow "U" shaped lines for the fingers. Detail the palm with a "C" shaped line. Draw long, curved lines down the length of each arm. Then, band the arms with shorter curved lines, forming the checked pattern of Woody's shirt. Then, draw a curved line between the portions of the vest, followed by a circle and another curved line.
7. Draw a large oval encompassing the top of Woody's head. This forms the brim of his cowboy hat. Draw curved lines overlapping the front edge of the brim, indicating sticking. Use a curved line to enclose the crown of the hat.
8. Draw Woody's eyes using large circles. Enclose the eyebrows using curved lines.
9. Detail Woody's face. Within each eye, draw three successively smaller circles. Shade between the two smallest to indicate the pupil. Then, use curved lines to draw the nose, smiling mouth, teeth, and tongue, to detail the inner ear, and to enclose the end of his bandana.
Color Woody. He wears a brown hat, yellow shirt, red bandana, and black and white spotted vest.
